Sanitised, single-use files
Every file, buffer and pumice is used once and discarded. Tools are sterilised between every client. No exceptions, no shortcuts.
A boutique nail bar built for people who notice the details — chrome finishes, glass-fine cuticle work, and custom art that turns ten fingertips into a statement. Walk in for a polish change, walk out with a finish that lasts.
Every service at #1 Nails is shaped around one thing: how the set looks and feels six hours after you leave — and six days after that. We use professional gel systems, salon-grade acrylics, and chrome powders that actually catch the light, applied under bright task lighting so nothing is hidden.
Classic shaping, cuticle care, hand massage, and a polish chosen for your skin tone — finished with a high-gloss top coat.
A proper foot treatment: soak, exfoliation, callus work, nail shaping, and a polish that holds up to real shoes.
Builder gel overlays for natural strength, or structured acrylics for length, shape, and architectural designs.
Hand-painted details, chrome powders, ombrés, foils, 3D accents — bring a reference or let us design it with you.
A good nail set is a stack of small choices made well. We've spent years obsessing each one — the brand of file we use, the angle of the apex on a builder overlay, how long a chrome is buffed until it actually reflects. That's the difference.

We work with professional gel, acrylic and dip systems you won't find in a drugstore. Better ingredients wear longer and look sharper from day one.
Every station is lit with a ring light and task lamp. You see the real colour and shape before you leave — not a flattering approximation.
Almond, coffin, ballerina, soft square — we pick the shape around your hand, your cuticle line and your day-to-day life, not the algorithm.
Gel cures for a full cycle under UV/LED. Acrylic sets before the top coat goes on. We don't rush the clock so the chair turns faster.
If a set lifts, chips or peels within seven days of a gel or acrylic service, bring it back and we'll make it right at no charge.
Tell us what you'd like and when. We confirm every booking the same day. Most sets take 60 to 90 minutes; nail art and acrylics may run longer — we'll let you know when we confirm.
Need a different service or a group booking? Mention it in the notes — we read every one.
Bookings are strongly recommended, especially for gel, acrylics and nail art. We do accept walk-ins when a chair is open, but a reservation guarantees your spot and your tech.
A classic manicure is around 30 to 45 minutes. Gel runs 45 to 60. Acrylic full sets and detailed nail art typically take 90 minutes to two hours. We'll give you an honest estimate when you book.
Usually, yes — fills are part of our regular menu. If the previous work is lifting, damaged, or from another system, we'll recommend a removal first so the new set bonds properly.
We remove gel and acrylics with an electric file and soak-off, never picking or forcing. Removal is a separate appointment so we can give it the time it needs without rushing your next service.
Yes. Send us a note through the booking form with the date, group size and the services you're after, and we'll set up a block that works for the whole party.
Tell us in the notes when you book — HEMA, certain acrylates, fragrances. We keep multiple product lines on hand and will choose one that fits.
Pick a service, pick a window, and we'll handle the rest. Dubuque's brightest finish is closer than you think.
